I first heard of the Millau Viaduct in The Bridge That Changed The Map Of Europe - a video from the B1M on YouTube which I thoroughly enjoyed.

But there’s nothing like seeing for yourself, so armed with a French rental car and a relatively tractable drive along the motorway, I did just that. The tallest bridge in the world now joins the list of things I’ve tried and failed to capture the majesty of in a photo:

The Millau Viaduct

Top tip, if you’re coming from the south, pay attention for the signs to the visitor centre, otherwise you’ll end up paying the toll twice when you don’t need to.

I wish I could have captured some footage of driving over it, but without a dash cam or a passenger, you’ll just have to take my word for it that it was spectacular. And the coffee at the visitor centre was the best priced one I’d had all day.
